Shooting Star

Michael Ball talks about a special charity project

The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice provides care, support and advice for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. These care services are offered free of charge to families, 365 days a year across the western half of London and north Surrey.

The Digital Producers have forged a relationship with this very worthy charity helping them develop and online rich media experience for their website. At very short notice we were informed that the Broadway singing sensation, Michael Ball, was to make a surprise visit to the hospice to entertain the children but also reveal details of a special concert in aid of the charity at a local school just before Christmas. The event was extremely special to him as it would be to an intimate audience of 600 at a local children’s school where all the proceeds would go to Shooting Star.

TDP supplied an experienced camera crew to collect some candid video of Michael interacting with the children and then undertook a one-on-one interview with the star to create the news piece for the charities website. The final pieces were delivered in a number of different cuts so that once could be used directly for the site while another version was created that talked more specifically about the concert. Adam Petrie, Head of PR and Communications commented,”Working with The Digital Producers has been an absolute pleasure. They were entirely professional and sensitive to our environment, as well as consistently creative and felxible to our needs and requests.”
