Design and Delivery of a WebReel

Tactical LIVE are a marketing and event company that have a large presence F1. In the autumn of 2009 they embarked on a rebranding exercise to become Tactical-LIVE and The Digital Producers were brought in to create a homepage WebReel that highlighted the company in a visual, emotive piece. The company rebrand took place during the F1 closed season and the WebReel needed to be created in a short space of time. Tactical LIVE had very little in the way of digital media content as they hadn’t adopted a rich media strategy in the past so we had to be creative in the way that we designed the piece.

Glyn Meredith, CEO and Chief Creative at TDP spoke of the project, “They were going through a massive overall of their entire brand image and we were extremely happy to be involved in this process. Many companies have not developed a digital video strategy and Tactical LIVE were in the same boat so we were able to complete the WebReel by using as many digital images that they could raise from their hard drives. We were extremely happy with the result that we delivered to them“.

The project was created completely within Adobe After Effects as a motion graphic piece and delivered to the web integration team at “Finer Vision” as an uncompressed QuickTime file. During the production of the new Tactical LIVE website the WebReel was used as a teaser film on a holding splash page and then took residence within the showreel area of the master site.

This is a fine example of how a WebReel can be implemented quickly and effectively with limited digital resource.
